Growing Taller Through Stretching
If I had a penny for every time I’ve been called “shorty” or “small”, I would have my own Scrooge McDuck styled money vault today. But of course, I can’t do anything about my height. Its’ genetic, hereditary, and you must do the best that you were born with.
I wasn’t satisfied with the height given to me by birth, however, and I wanted more. So I did the only thing that seemed logical to me: I exercised.
One of my favorite exercise that I’ve used regularly over the years to grow taller is stretching. There are more than one ways that stretching can help increase your height. Stretching, if done right, impacts the growth plates at the end of the bones in your legs (tibia and femur), which eventually helps you grow tall. Also, as the bone is stretched, micro-fractures develop in them. These micro-fractures, over time, regenerate and add to your height (remember, even 1mm a day over the period of months can be quite a lot).
One of my favorite stretching exercises is simple “hanging”. In this exercise, you simply hold on to a horizontal bar and let your entire body hang loose while keeping your arms straight. It’s a great, easy exercise that I’m sure you’ve seen somebody perform. Ideally, I like to perform this exercise for at least 60 minutes in a week, “hanging” for several minutes at a time. It’s great for stretching out your spine and placing some pressure on the growth plates present in your spinal column.
There are a lot of variations you can adapt for this stretching exercise. These include, but are not limited to, upside down hanging (in which you hang upside down from a horizontal bar using your legs), hanging with crunches (in which you hang normally, but pull your knees towards your chest – this impacts your lower spine), etc.
Simply put, if you want to grow taller instead of living with a “shorty” tag all through your life, stretching exercises should be the first step you should take.
Rather than going haphazardly into height increase, I suggest that you get hold of a comprehensive height increase program like Grow Taller 4 Idiots to make your journey easier, better, and smoother.
